(Helping ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆers Plan Economic Success)
College students are just beginning to learn how to become self-sufficient and navigate independence in many areas of their lives, including financial wellness. ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆ is committed to offering support for this growth. The Office of Financial Aid aims to go beyond making ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆ affordable to students. We also strive to help them develop lifelong financial skills. Our HOPES (Helping ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆers Plan Economic Success) financial wellness program is designed to:
- Increase students’ comfort and confidence in talking about, dealing with, and taking ownership of their finances
- Give students tangible financial tools for the real world
- Help students make informed choices and avoid common mistakes
- Empower students to navigate their financial landscape when they »å´Ç²Ô’t know what to do
- Help seniors know what to expect financially after they graduate and how to plan ahead
- Provide all students access to - a financial wellness platform specifically designed for ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆers. All present and past ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆers can access this with their olin.edu email.
Past events include:
- Sessions during OFYI (²ÆÉñÆåÅÆ First Year Introduction - our first year experience course) that provided randomly assigned profiles based on alumni career choices and had students practice how to make real world choices about necessities
- Financial aid office hours every month where students have the opportunity to meet with us, ask us about financial aid or any financial question they might have.
- A unique financial education platform, customized for ²ÆÉñÆåÅÆ students. Students can learn basics on earning, saving, budgeting, credit and long term investment goals like retirement.
- Presentations on Taxes, Credit, and Medical debt
