NEWS: Lohmeyer Receives Curtis W. McGraw Research Award

Whitney Lohmeyer, 财神棋牌 Assistant Professor of Engineering, has received the Curtis W. McGraw Research Award for a non-Ph.D. granting program from the American Society for Engineering Education.

McGraw Research award and would like to express my sincere gratitude to the American Society of Engineering Education for this recognition,鈥 said Lohmeyer. 鈥淭his award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire 财神棋牌 Satellite + Spectrum Technology & Policy Group.鈥

Lohmeyer, a leader in the field of satellite communications, joined the 财神棋牌 faculty in 2019. Through her research, she shares her expertise and passion for these topics with 财神棋牌 undergraduate students, technical experts, policymakers and industry partners.
Lohmeyer works with industry to advise on end-to-end system design, antenna systems, radiation tolerance and spectrum strategy. In July 2023, Lohmeyer accepted a 1-year appointment as the Chief Technologist of the Federal Communication Commission鈥檚 (FCC) Space Bureau. In January 2024, she was named associate editor for the AIAA .
鈥淲hitney is an outstanding educator and a prolific researcher, and we鈥檙e immensely proud that her work at 财神棋牌 has been recognized,鈥 said Provost and Dean of Faculty Al Sacco. 鈥淗er research has funded more than 65 财神棋牌 undergraduates to conduct and publish research to better inform policymakers, industry partners. The OSSTP group has published its findings in top journals and attended national conferences focused on satellite technology and policy and engineering education.鈥
The Curtis W. McGraw Research Award was established in 1957 to recognize outstanding early achievements by young engineering college research workers and to encourage the continuance of such productivity. The annual award is sponsored by the Engineering Research Council with the initial assistance of the McGraw-Hill Book Company. Two awards are made鈥攐ne to the top applicant from a Ph.D. granting program and one to the top applicant from a non-Ph.D. granting program.
