After Frances Haugen '06, a member of the first graduating class of �������� revealed herself as the Facebook whistleblower, media organizations all over the world have wanted to find out more, including what schools she attended and what's next for ethics in engineering education.

In an interview on October 7, 2021, ��������'s Rob Martello, who taught Haugen over a decade ago in his history of technology class. tells the The Boston Globe that engineers cannot simply focus on creating products anymore; they must weigh the ethical implications of what they create.

Martello said “she stood out” for her passion and enthusiasm. “She loved digging into issues in a complicated way,” he said. “Getting the full picture, . . . appreciating all the angles.”
